A year after launching Vessel on Substack, we are bringing the concept into physical form. In December, our first print edition will be available for purchase at select retailers throughout the Southeast, and subscriptions and single copies are currently for sale on our new website.
This publication, born of passion for the creative and diverse voices of our region—along with its indelible sense of place and stories rooted like ancient oaks—studies the past, showcases the present, and takes heart in the future.
Vessel connects readers to place and to each other through compelling writing, elevated design, and dynamic photography. We revel in the bold, thoughtful, and authentic aspects of the South. We celebrate our region's creators working in both traditional and modern ways. We champion diversity and the rich milieu of Southern culture, experiences, and people.
Each quarterly issue will include the arts and culture, essays and literature, food and drink, style and design, travel, and distinctive experiences of the South.
We will continue to publish here, too. The Substack version of Vessel will include stories that are not in our print publication. Think of this space like an insider’s view—an extension of the magazine that delivers personalized accounts from contributors, guides to the region, and first access to brand events and merchandise.
